On the 31st of April I, along with approx. 20 other people, will be embarking on a walk of a lifetime. My step Mum has organised a fundraising walk for the Asbestos Diseases Society which will see us walk (relay style) all the way from Kalgoorlie to Perth, a total distance of 596km which is nothing short of astounding.
My step Mum has worked tirelessly in preparation for the walk. My step Mum, along with her merry men of helpers, has organised catering gigs, charity Zumba classes, auctions and quite a few sausage sizzles. We want to raise a tonne of money to find a cure for Asbestos related diseases. My step Mum has lost several members of her immediate family (including her beautiful Mum whom has inspired this walk) due to Mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases.
If you can support us in any way we will be very appreciative. Don't forget to look out for us walking along the Gt Eastern Highway in the first week of May. If you are local, please make an effort to get to the Kellerberrin Club for the steak night they will be hosting for us as we make our way into Kellerberrin.
