Last time at the beach.... boohoo

A little project we have been working on for Aunty Brooke because we don't want her to feel lonely all the way up there on her own!!

The Tea Party

Catching up on some much needed ZZZZ' s

We are back at home now and slowly getting back into the swing of things. Nothing brings you back down to reality quicker than dust, dead plants and dead mice. Noah was a little angel for us in the car on the way home. We were on the road for about 7 hours and he was such a good boy the whole way. He didn't get car sick again thank goodness. Noah is stoked to be home again. I was worried that he would be bored out of his mind after being so busy in Kalbarri with his cousins and the beach but he seems to be really content. He has spent a great deal of time in his cubby house. He has had several tea parties since we arrived home and this afternoon Richard joined him for a cuppa. It was pretty cute. We set up his paddle pool this arvo so he could have a play while we did jobs around the house. It is really cool because he can't get out of it yet so we use it as a make shift play pen. Richard was washing the car and had his eyes on him the whole time while I went mad cleaning inside the house. Noah has had some major sleep-ins since we got home. This morning he woke up at 9am. He must be happy to be in his own bed again. Noah has started to talk! He is saying quite a few words now and he is having a go at repeating most words that you ask him to say. While in Kalbarri we were having a BBQ with friends when out of the blue Noah said "Razzle". Much to Jye's delight he also started saying "Jye." Some other words he has mastered include "Dad, pub, juice, up, no, Si (for Sienna), Pop and hello." He still won't say "Mum" and if I ask him to say it he says "pub" instead.
I go back to work at Tammin Primary School on Tuesday. I am still only working one day a week this year. Noah will be very happy to see his Nanna Margaret again. No doubt he will have a great time bossing his poor Nanna around while I am at work.

Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi

Australia Day afternoon down at Kalbarri foreshore
Tea cup ride. Richard started to feel sick and had to ask the owner to slow the ride down. I was laughing my head off.

One for the boys

So I have to eat my own words now because Richard actually caught a fish. He caught this Mackerel last Tuesday morning while out on a mates boat. He was pretty happy. Not sure of the weight or size.

Everyone, including myself, is calling Noah Noeeee now

Our holiday is coming to an end and the thought of going home is pretty depressing. No more beach, sea breeze, milkshakes or eating out for a while. We were originally going home last Wednesday but decided to extend our stay until Friday. This afternoon I will be busy packing and washing. We have had a wonderful time. Noah is getting really tired though. We have had some major tantrums and battles over the most stupid things i.e. wearing a hat!!!

While on holidays both Richard and I have visited the Physio several times. Nothing major; just sore backs, probably because we don't look after them. While at the Physio today Noah got to play on one of those wobble vibrating machines. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. If you ever get a chance put your kids on one. Their little cheeks and fat bellies bouncing around will send you into hysterics. Wish I had a photo!!

Noah's first friend

OK so technically Jye is Noah's cousin but they are such good friends. Jye would have to be the first child that has really bonded with Noah. It was pretty unexpected as they had spent time together before but out of nowhere their friendship blossomed. Jye is 3 1/2 years older than Noah and he is being so kind and patient to him. He keeps saying "Noah is funny" and one time he said to me "Noah is funny looking isn't he!" That made me laugh. Noah always wants to go around to Haylee's house to see the kids. Jye and Noah conspire together to borrow toys from Sienna without her knowing. Jye helps Noah steal the toys and hide them in his pram. Perhaps Jye knows that Sienna might not appreciate Noah playing with her toys. Just thought I would share some of the photos Haylee took of kids together. The photo above is one of my favorite shots from this holiday; look at how Noah is looking at him.....Complete infatuation!!!

Watching Sienna

Thanks for dinner Aunty Haylee

How delightful

One of my favorite photos

Having a little sulk because we wouldn't let him climb the stairs for the 100th time

Carnaby Cockatoos which were probably the ugliest birds there!

Noah woke up this morning saying "pub, pub, pub", now how delightful is that coming from an 18 month old who still does not say Mum. Last night Richard and I went to the PUB while my cousin Haylee looked after Noah. Clearly this is why Noah was saying Pub and not because his father goes there way too often. Yesterday we went out to Rainbow Jungle where there are many different varieties of parrots. The main attraction for me was the Carnaby Cockatoo (my maiden name). My great uncle discovered this bird; hence its name Carnaby Cockatoo. Sadly this uncle passed away a long time ago. On one of his bush expeditions he accidentally shot himself while climbing over a fence. The shooting was fatal. Most people now would never carry a loaded gun while climbing over a fence. My Dad's family were all really into nature. My grandfather discovered and named many WA Jewel beetles and butterflies. My Grandfather Keith was also the naked baby boy featured on one of the first Arnotts biscuit tins.

An absolute highlight for Noah has been watching the garbage truck come and empty our wheelie bin. The smallest things are often the most entertaining. Please remember that we don't have rubbish collection on our farm so that is why he found it so fascinating.

Tongue Treats

For those of you who have not yet received a tongue treat from Noah this is how they work. You ask him "Noah can I please have a tongue treat?" He rubs his little tongue with his fingers and then places the little treat in your hand. Too cute. Don't ask me how it evolved; I think it happened when we were bored in the car one day. Next time you see the little darling just ask him for a tongue treat.

Noah fell alseep while eating his lunch today. First time ever he has fallen asleep in his high chair.
