Jealous

Richard and Noah went out for an afternoon of skiing @ Sacha's Lake - I was so jealous I couldn't go with them - I think they were secretly stoked I couldn't go. It was a dudes only afternoon for them!!! I am itching to get out to the ski lakes to take photos.

the showmen

Over the last week Richard and I have been treated to special shows hosted by Noah. So far he has put on a disco/dance thingy, with weird karaoke thrown in for good measure, and a movie night. He charges for these shows - we actually give him real money. Tonight he made two dollars from his Stars Wars screening. He told Richard tonight that he doesn't do credit (seriously he did). I asked him "what does credit even mean?" He said "I don't know."

He runs the shows efficiently. He stands at the lounge room steps to collect the entry fee (which can vary GREATLY) and then he gives you a stamp upon entry. I nicnamed him "Little Hitler" tonight as his rules were getting quite ridiculous - no drinking - no sitting on the couch - no eating - no talking - no cameras - and stay under the blankets at all times. I got out my camera and therefore got shot (in the face of all places!)

Richard and I love playing along with these latest night time games - we really are enjoying Noah's imagination of late. We also love how he translates things he has seen in the everyday world into games. I guess being the only child has allowed for him develop a very W I L D imagination.

our year in pictures

I have just finished and ordered our families first ever annual year book of photographs. I have wanted to make a book like this ever since I saw one of my all time favourite photographers, Deb Schwedhelm, compile one back in 2010. I of course left it to the last minute so it won't be here in time for Christmas - but I know we will treasure it forever. I look back on this year with mixed emotions - I am so grateful for all the photos I have managed to capture over the year and I can't wait to see them in print. I will (hopefully) make a book each year for my family. This year I feel was the right time to start. This was the year that I got so far into photography that I just can't imagine my life now without it - I am fully submerged.

Have a look - did you make into our family year book for 2012? If not then I suggest you come hang out with us more often! In all seriousness the images that did make it into this book had to be important family wise, but they also had to showcase my photography journey.
