Georgia on my mind

Noah and I have been in America for one week as of today. We stayed on our own in a hotel in Downtown Atlanta for the first three nights. Downtown Atlanta is both a business and tourist area - it was really great to get all the touristy kind of stuff out of the way before meeting up with my old and very special friend Mackenzie (whom I haven't seen in ten years). It honestly feels like we have not been apart for that long, aside from the fact that we now have children. To meet her kids has been amazing. I actually feel like I have known them for a long time. Mackenzie is very good at keeping all those around her up to date with the comings and goings of her families life. I am looking forward to meeting the main man of the house - Raphael - in a couple of weeks. Noah and I are bound for Florida tomorrow. We are taking the one hour flight south so we can go to the happiest place on Earth for four days - DISNEY WORLD. But for now, some photos of what life has been like for the past five days with the Carvalho family.

One thing about America that has TOTALLY overwhelmed me is the food. Food is BIG here and generally unhealthy. I am also gobsmacked by the convenience of everything here in America. Mackenzie tells me that Americans are totally into convenience and I could not agree more. I am in love with the cheap shopping. Everything here, exactly the same products, are so much cheaper than in Australia.

The white stuff is Grits, a savory grain which is an acquired taste. I felt sick for hours after eating out at Waffle House. It was an awesome experience though.

 Yes we did!!!!! AMAZING ATMOSPHERE

The red nails are mine. Can you actually believe Mackenzie and I have pretty much identical rings - and our rings are NOT rings that are common - I could not believe my eyes when I saw the ring on her finger which Raphael gave her one year ago. My ring is my wedding/engagement ring which is now just over four years old. We both did not know that we owned the same rings.

Not a bad place to upload photos :)
